These individuals in the community are hidden away from others because they are considered a shame and therefore are not accorded the necessary health care they require. Achieving this goal of according equity and eliminating disparities is necessary not only as a way of helping those individuals with disabilities access health care but also as a way to educate the community on the importance of treating such people with justice and not discriminate against them because they are individuals just like them (McKenzie et al. 2011). In the community I come from, people with disabilities are treated like lepers in the old days. They are locked up from the moment they acquire the disability of whatever form. They are not even taken to hospitals to find out if they can get any assistance like being given prosthetics, wheelchairs or even crutches. These individuals are sometimes locked up in different houses (which are constructed like cells) because they are believed to be contagious and therefore shunned away. They are not given enough food, and sometimes none at all. The occasional food they are given is not nutritious at health and hence such individuals suffer from malnutrition and malnourishment on top of other health-related opportunistic diseases and infections like coughs. The nurse practitioner is specifically trained to provide individual health care (Rimmer and Cross 2002). This skill comes in handy in the initial stage of the â€Å"project† where they carry out assessment of the individuals with disabilities within the community and the form of disability they are facing. It is also necessary after teaching the local community (during monitoring and evaluation stage). This is because they will be able to move to those homes with such individuals and see if their treatment in relation to health has

A major threat to our business has been the influx of cheap imports and the rise of competitors. Brainstorming has helped in achieving a technique in problem solving and team building since it creates new ideas, solves problems, motivates, and develops teams (Bushe & Marshak, 2009). The article provides readers with information pertaining to internal practices that ensure the success of an organization. An alternative method is the nominal group technique that encourages contributions from everyone. Motivating the employees is a good leadership practice. Motivation involves implementing an innovative reward system directly with the workforce. Development programs assist an organization in bringing up a clear understanding of the growth of an organization. Leaders are always under a lot of pressure to guide and direct their subjects or employees to achieve the set goals. For effectiveness in leadership, leaders have to adopt strategic leadership. Letter to a video game character or author Essay

Letter to a video game character or author - Essay Example This is the reason why you always have a hard time in the battleground. I am stunned at the unconventionality of your inclusion in the troops of galactic armies because you simply do not possess the usual characteristics of warriors going into wars. I have been contemplating about what could be your true role in the battle? Well, I guess everything needs balance in order to make things work properly. It cannot be all vicious and undesirable. I know your brother Peter has been very bad to Ender ever since and being a young kid that he is, he needs some sort of love and care. I guess that is your greatest role on the ground, that is, to show love and compassion to your brother Ender. He needs your support in order to succeed in the battle. I am also not certain about how you feel about your brother, Peter. While he does not mention about slaying you and Ender, it seems to me that he has this thought wandering inside his mind. But still you are showing a certain level of kindness that is way beyond human nature. But here is the thing: I don’t think you should always be nice to your brother Peter. You should also show him that what he is doing is not right and needs to be rectified. I want to share to you what I think about your situation. I don’t think that it is our responsibility to â€Å"always† be kind to our siblings. We do not always get the best kinds: there can be the most ruthless siblings in the family, and oftentimes, if not always, they do have bad intentions for us. In this case, Ender is an exception. We both know how good he is, even to his brother Peter. But I would like to suggest about how you should deal with your brother Peter. First, you cannot allow him to threaten Ender or you all the time. If he is showing such an attitude, this could mean that he really does not treat you as a family. Do not be always nice to him;

The concept of literacy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

The concept of literacy - Essay Example ng it literally and directly applying it as suggested by the text but literacy is about understanding and expanding information beyond the boundaries of its connotations. Indeed, a person may be able read texts but may not be capable of making sense of the text. For instance, an Asian student may be able to read out loud English documents but is inadequate in terms of interpreting the meaning of the words. The student is therefore illiterate of the English language although his literacy is not limited to the language itself because literacy involves other aspects as well such as information and its application in real life situations. It is thus my discourse that literacy is not limited to an individual’s capability to read, write and interpret reading materials but it also incorporates understanding, analyzing and applying them in order to improve lives and benefit one’s self and other people in the different aspects of life. With the rise of the number of students going to college regardless of their learning abilities, it could be said that education is overrated. Education is often associated with literacy however it is not necessarily true that an educated person is a literate individual. Instead, one’s literacy is determined not by his diplomas and schools attended but how he is able to put to use the education he has acquired. In the previous example, the Asian student cannot be completely defined as literate or illiterate. His ability to read aloud English texts does not show his literacy but his inability to understand the readings also does not say everything about his illiteracy. This is because even though the student may not be able to understand the context of the materials written in English but if he comprehends it when it is written in his own language, then there is a big difference. Literacy is not simply about understanding a certain discourse but it is also being able to think independently to decide whether one agrees, disagrees or has

Vietnams Declaration of Independence Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Vietnams Declaration of Independence - Case Study Example April 27, Captain Patti requested Ho Chi Minh to allow the OSS team work with the Annamites with the intention of gathering intelligence on the Japanese. Ho agreed to the Captain’s request and set up a camp in the jungle that would later be Viet Minh’s headquarters. It is worth noting that all requests made to Ho by the United States, he agreed to. In his DoI speech, Chi Minh used the second paragraph of America’s 1776 Declaration of Independence to assert his point. He states that Vietnam’s wish to be a sovereign nation is in agreement with the principles of humanity and equality. He further states that all Vietnamese, like any other sovereign citizens, have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. According to Ho, this statement means that all men, irrespective of any differences, have a are all born equal at birth and that freedom cannot be taken away, meaning the rights at from birth are inalienable. In emphasizing these principles, Ho st ates that the same principles were used by the United States in the 1776 Declaration of Independence. Ho goes on to point out that the same principles were the foundation of the 1791 Declaration of the French Revolution on the Rights of Man and the Citizen. The French declaration mainly states that all men are born free, have equal rights, and must at all times be free with equal rights. If these principles were reasserted in the Declaration of Independence and the Declaration of French Revolution, then they should be applied to Vietnam’s Declaration of Independence as well.

Problem solving and discusion making - Essay Example The company’s management has been active in finding solution to counteract the ramifications associated with these restrictions by applying the problem solving procedure to identify and provide solutions to the current problem. Emirates Airline is one of the most reputable companies in the world that have experienced success. The government of Dubai, which is part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) owns and controls the Emirates Airlines (Ibrahim, 2005). Traffic control for airlines is one major problem affecting Emirates Airline. It is necessary for air travelling has to be strictly controlled and properly managed for effective service provision (Michael, 2010). There are countries that restrict other airlines from accessing their air space. The reason for this would be to avoid cases of insecurity and reduce congestion in their airspace. Emirates Airline is one of the airline companies facing a similar problem. Canada, for example, has denied Emirates Airline access into its airports. Emirates Airline aims at being a global company serving clients from all over the world. This goal, however, is faced with a major setback due to traffic control issues. Traffic control issues deny the airline an opportunity to compete globally with other airlines that are not subjected to similar problems. Emirates Airline makes losses due to lack of access to airspaces in other international countries such as Canada. There are clients who are loyal to Emirates Airline because of its quality services; these clients, however, end up failing to enjoy the services of the airline due to restricted landing in some countries. The consequence of this constitutes Emirates Airline losing some of its clients to other travel companies that have access to the restricted zones. This implies that traffic control issues leads to the company losing its global competitive edge to other airlines. Accessibility to all regions of the world is a critical element in success of any
